A big 'Ah-hah' ~ I'm learning MLM truth

I can't actually in good conscience call what I have experienced up till now a NWM/MLM 'career'. But I consider these last few weeks to be the turning point and I will be sharing the newness and truth on mlm (pardon the grammar, it's for the search engines ;-) that I learn here with you.

One glorious day back in 1995 or so, I came to be listening to a Robert Allen tape set. This tape set was my first taste of what would later become my love affair with the idea of Network Marketing and residual income.

Network marketing is finally hitting it's stride and becoming mainstream and innovative enough in it's marketing programs to warrant the attention of anyone who ever has dared to dream of a true walk away income .... but ironically enough, it's only once you have put the idea that it's all about the money aside that true success is able to find it's way to you.

It's not about the money.
It's not about sales or recruiting.

It's about truly caring for the people and the relationships that come into your circle of influence and wishing for them all that you would claim for yourself. Only then can you become truly sucessful.

This blog will stay generic as far as my promoting any particular company goes because as we all know, companies come and compainies go ... it's our relationships which we develop using a particular product line as the vehicle that are the real prize. And besides, we can go to any local or regional meeting or get onto a Yahoo group with other company distributors and talk product all day long if we care to. Here we will talk about all aspects of your NWM business EXCEPT specific products.

In the NWM industry, there are few things more critical to getting up and running in a new business as having a mentor (or in my case, Mentors; which I have only finally met very recently) or upline sponsor close at hand to guide you, teach you critical skills and inspire you when doubts (about yourself, about your business, about the company, whatever) creep in and threaten to muddle up your day. It's the nature of the beast that no one should be able to succeed big without helping others in their group ... so don't fight it! Find others who share your vision and become accountable to each other; no one can do this alone.

I've been with my current upline and 'primary' company since 1997, yet it's only very recently that I've found a team of like-minded leaders to work with. Perhaps the most fascinating part of this new found relationship is that between us there must be more than a dozen companies represented ... and, for the most part, I couldn't begin to tell you who is a distributor for what.

Because everyone is so careful not to mention company names or products, we are able to share mentoring calls with all of our downline and prospects without hesitation. It's a love of the industry and a desire to be the best mentors and teachers ourselves that drives the conversations. The most basic of questions is always answered with the utmost respect and concern. The truth about things like comp plans and marketing approaches that work for normal folks like you and I are thoroughly covered, and the beauty of it all is that this network marketing strategy is very duplicable .... and best of all it's free :)

I'm sure that some of the ideas I've touched on here seem ludicrous to those who have been in Network Marketing for any length of time and they will take a little time to swallow. So for today, that'll be all ;-)
