Affiliate marketing vs. Network marketing


There’s a funny tug of war, a kind of ‘them and us’ between affiliate marketers and network marketers.

It’s most in your face online, but then many differences are.

I say it’s a ‘lack’ way of looking at the world. People don't want to take the time to understand each other’s point of view. That feeds the fire. Funny, I see more things alike than deal-breaker differences.

This sort of arguing is like folks from different religions trying to prove to each other that their way is the best way.

They waste their valuable time trying to ‘save’ the one another from their own thinking.

What a freaking waste of time!
Where is the progress in that?!

Affiliate marketing and Network marketing are so much alike it’s pretty silly that one group should ever look down their nose at the other and shake their heads, but it happens every day.

You have to start with a good company, a better than average product and a pay plan that is fair to all…. This is where most fail to get out of the gate.

In NWM, choosing your company should begin with that E-book I keep telling you to read … "Success in 10 Steps"…. It’s a real eye-opener…. It’s a tell-it-like-it-is, hardcore look at LIES that NWM big boys have been trashing this industry with for so long.

Affiliate Marketing / NWM ….What’s the difference?

Affiliate marketing is the marketing of a product with the understanding that the sale will get you a sales commission sometimes it repeats, sometimes not. Pretty hard for a company to screw up unless they are dishonest.

It’s a ‘lone ranger’ way of thinking … how can I be the best, how can I be smarter than all the other affiliates out there.


Network marketing is the marketing of a product with the understanding that the sale will get you a repeating sales commission on ALL money that you (and the group that you build) bring to the company now and forever.

For this to work, you need systems in place and a team approach to your business. These are folks that you will be ‘living’ with for a very long time to come if all goes as planned.

It’s all about the friends that you make and the people that you come to know along the way. There is no short cut to people’s long-term friendship … you have to take the time to get to know what people want out of life. And then you have to want to help them get there.

So much alike, and yet so different.

We’re talking direct sales commissions vs. residual income.

A sprint vs. a marathon.

Retail sales commission vs. being paid royalties for a job well done.

A one-night stand vs. a marriage (to your co-workers NOT the company).

You decide what's right for you

Clearly, some people are more suited to one form of business over the other. I believe that affiliate marketing has to become a full time JOB in order to pay big and pay often…. And when the marketing stops, so do the checks.

Network marketing (assuming that the ‘5 Pillars’ are in place) offers more chance of regular, stable income to everyone.

Sure there are skills that need to be learned … every sort of new job requires some kind of training.

Of course there’s no guarantee it will pay off. Go work for someone else if you want to keep on trading your time for money.

But, if you have the RIGHT pay plan working for you, and a TEAM of supportive people to work with, the work that you do will show in your check.

And with effective and honest people at the helm, that check will likely continue to grow for the life of the company.

NWM vs. Affiliate marketing ….

Same idea, different payout… only you can say which is right for you.

Me? I'll take Network Marketing any day ;-)
