Pinging your MLM blog

What the heck is pinging?!

Pinging is a short cut to getting people's attention.
You should 'ping' your blog after every entry or major change that you make.

I'll show you where to go to 'ping' in a minute.

But first, I want you to head over to feedburner.com, you'll see where it says:

"If you currently publish an RSS or Atom syndicated content feed, FeedBurner can help you!"

Well, it just so happens that if you followed yesterday's directions, you do have one!

Login to your blog (Blogger.com, remember?) go back into your 'Settings/site feed' tab of your blog and copy that 'Feed URL' address. This is the address that they are asking for on the first page of feedburner. Paste it into the slot that says 'Feed URL'.

Fill out whatever it is you need to for that account. What you're looking for is the new feed url for your site.
Mine is:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/AndreasBrainDrain

Take your feed url on over to Yahoo and login (or create an account).
Go to the 'My Yahoo' icon in the top right of screen...go there.
Under the search box on the next page you'll see 'add content' ... go there.
Next to the search box on the next page find 'add RSS by URL' ... go there.
Enter your feedburner address here and 'add'
Your feed should be listed on your My Yahoo page now.

Next, go to pingomatic.com.
Enter the name of your feed and the feedburner url in the spaces provided.
Check all boxes for notifying misc feed directories.
then 'submit ping'.

Very shortly, your feed should be updated on your My Yahoo page.
